  • Redskins Comeback Falls Short Against Eagles

    11.18.2013 / Blog Posts Redskins

    Stephen Czarda, Redskins.com

For the second time in three seasons, the Washington Redskins were swept by the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Redskins made it tight at the end, but the early 24-point hole was too much to overcome as they fell 24-16.

Offensively, the Redskins were led by running back Alfred Morris in the first half as the sophomore carried the pigskin 18 times for 85 yards. It was the most carries he’s recorded in any half through the first 26 regular season games of his career.

While Morris was churning yards and moving the chains, the passing game ... Read More

Despite appearing on track to have the first winning streak of the season, the Washington Redskins let a 13-point second half led fade away in a bitter 34-27 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings.

All season the headlines read that the offense couldn’t score in the first half.

That wasn’t the case last night.

Robert Griffin III came out guns blazing, throwing three touchdown passes in the first 30 minutes. The performance was a flashback to the second quarter of the Redskins-Cowboys game on Thanksgiving last season.

Alfred Morris once again eclipsed the century mark ... Read More

On Sunday, the Washington Redskins hosted over 100 alumni at the annual homecoming game against the San Diego Chargers.

Despite honoring the 1987 squad that won Super Bowl XXII in the most lopsided game in Super Bowl history at the time, the 2013 Redskins had their second-straight nail-biting home victory.

Up 24-21 with a little over two minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Chargers marched down the field and appeared to score the game-winning touchdown with 21 seconds left. However, after an official ruling overturned the original call, the Chargers had the ... Read More

Football is a sixty-minute game consisting of four 15-minute quarters and on Sunday the Denver Broncos walloped the Washington Redskins in the fourth quarter. Up 21-14 after three quarters, the Redskins lost 45-21.

The Broncos’ 31-point fourth quarter outburst was assisted by a Redskins offense that couldn’t do anything right.

On their sixth fourth quarter possessions, the Redskins were forced to punt twice and threw four straight interceptions to end the game. The first two were heaved into the air by quarterback Robert Griffin III while the final two came from quarterback ... Read More

On Sunday, the Washington Redsikns dropped to 1-4 on the season, losing to archrival Dallas Cowboys 31-16.

Each week the Redskins are stonewalled by a different facet of the game. The first week of the season it was the offense’s first half struggle, the second it was the defense’s inability to contain the quarterback, against the Lions in Week 3 it was penalties and turnovers and last night it was special teams.

In a game where the Redskins outgained the Cowboys by 220 yards, the game turned into a special teams ... Read More

On Sunday, the Washington Redskins recorded their first victory of the season on their longest road trip of the season. Down 14-0 early against the Oakland Raiders, the Redskins remained resilient scoring 24 unanswered points in a 24-14 victory. It was the team’s most complete performance of the season.

The much-maligned defense had its best performance to date, sacking Raiders quarterback Matt Flynn seven times, holding their offense to under 300 total yards and David Amerson recorded the unit’s third touchdown of the season with a 45-yard interception return for a ... Read More
