Washington Redskins wide receiver Donté Stallworth kicked off the American Heart Associations annual Recess event in Washington, DC on Tuesday, leading over 200 children in warm-ups and educating them on the importance of exercising.
Recess focuses on fighting childhood obesity using educational activities that teach children how to stay active and lead healthier lives. Held at the Watkins Recreation Center in Southeast DC, children enjoyed various activity stations including:
- Cheer Station hosted by the Redskins Cheerleaders
- Pigskin Toss hosted by the DC Divas

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall and outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan joined Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell last week to kick off the Play60 Challenge at Albert Hill Middle School in Richmond, leading 50 students in a series of exercises.
The youth fitness event served as the background for the 2011 launch of the "Redskins Play 60 Challenge" across the entire Commonwealth of Virginia for all sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students, which encourages youth to be active for 60 minutes every day as a way to combat childhood obesity.

Dallas Week is here! The Redskins renew their longstanding rivalry with the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football tonight at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Tex. Kickoff is 8:30 p.m. ET.
The Redskins are 1-0 in the NFC East, having beaten the New York Giants 28-14 at FedExField in Week 1. They defeated the Arizona Cardinals 22-21 last Sunday.

The Redskins and NRG Energy officially unveiled the solar installation at FedExField at Sunday's game against the Cardinals! The NRG solar entry plaza at Gate A will generate power through a variety of green energy technologies, including translucent solar panels and a specially designed sculpture dubbed "solar man" created using thin film solar technology. With more than 8,000 solar panels, this is the largest solar power installation in the metropolitan Washington, DC area and the largest of its kind at a professional football stadium!
