The Washington Redskins headed into yesterday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers desperate for a win, and that’s exactly what they got. Although it wasn’t a perfect performance by any means, the Redskins pulled out a last-second, 24-22 victory over the Bucs at Raymond James Stadium in Florida.
Things were going very smoothly for the Redskins coming out of halftime. They led 21-6 and were dominant both offensively and defensively against the Buccaneers. But the hometown team just wouldn’t go away, and turned in several huge second-half plays to score 16 unanswered points and take a ... Read More

After getting drafted by the team in 2006, Kedric Golston has spent his entire career in Washington and is now a veteran anchor for what is shaping up to be a younger Redskins roster.
Virginia-native Christal Golston met her future, defensive end husband through a mutual friend when he was just a rookie playing for the Washington Redskins. Six years of marriage and four children later, Christal and Kedric are rarely apart!
WOW got the chance to sit down with Christal to talk about everything from gameday rituals and date night with Kedric, to her days playing wide receiver in ... Read More

Yesterday’s 2012 home opener for the Washington Redskins featured several ups and downs, and even though the Redskins made a final push to tie the game at the end, the visiting Cincinnati Bengals were just too much, as the Redskins lost 38-31 to move to 1-2 on the young season.
There were several big plays by the Redskins’ offense to take away from yesterday’s game, but it was a big play by the defense that set the tone early against the Bengals (2-1). Four minutes into the game, the Bengals had the ball in the shadow ... Read More

Yesterday’s game began on a very promising note for the Redskins, but a frustrating second half performance against the St. Louis Rams led to the team’s first loss of the year, 31-28, at the Edward Jones Dome in the shadow of the St. Louis Arch.
The Rams received the opening kickoff of the game and began from their own 20-yard line. On their first offensive play of the game, St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford found wide receiver Danny Amendola for a 13-yard gain, but as he was being tackled, Redskins linebacker Perry Riley stripped the ball ... The Washington Redskins opened their 2012 season with a bang Sunday, as they went into New Orleans and defeated the hometown Saints 40-32 in front of a loud crowd at the Superdome.
There were several keys to Sunday's victory, but we'll focus on the obvious: Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III played marvelously in his first-ever NFL game.
Griffin III started the game on fire through the Redskins' first two series on offense, completing his first seven passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. His favorite target early was wide receiver Pierre Garçon, who, on ... Read More

Lorenzo Alexander has a lot going on besides football. Father and husband, founder and president of the ACES Foundation focused on under-served youth, founder and part-owner of a local Pilates and fitness studio. The list goes on, and we didn't include his spot as one of the Redskins Team Captains last year.
When WOW asked the linebacker how he manages it all, he replied, "I wouldn't be able to do it...without my wife. She is definitely my rock...without her I'd be lost."
As the team's female fan club, WOW had to sit down with ... Read More

Rocky McIntosh has spent the past six seasons wearing burgundy and gold. Drafted out of the University of Miami in 2006 and recording a career-high 110 tackles for the Redskins in 2010, the linebacker finished off the 2011 NFL season with 65 combined tackles, one sack and one pass breakup. While Rocky is currently a free agent, we don’t think is the last we will see of the McIntosh’s in the DMV.
In January, Rocky and his wife, Alessia, founded and launched a non-profit organization called A GRAN Foundation, focused on empowering youth and giving underserved children the ... Read More

Kendra had the biggest crush on Barry in middle school.
And while it may not have been self-confessed love at first sight for the Redskins nose tackle Barry Cofield and his wife, Kendra, the two began dating in high school and got married during Cofield's rookie season with the New York Giants.
After spending the past five years in New York, the Cofields relocated to Washington, DC after Barry was signed by the Redskins, following the 2011 lockout. Cofield had a breakout season with the team at nose tackle, a position that is often considered the toughest to fill ... Read More
