There isn’t much to hang your hat on after a 23-0 shutout on the road. The team didn’t do any of the things that made it a winner in the first two weeks of the season, and the Redskins have slid to last place tie in the NFC East.

One of the few highlights of yesterday’s game, was that the Redskins limited the Bills to 23 points. That’s almost nine points fewer than their season average, and certainly left the offense with the opportunity to stay in the game.

Some games boil down to an obvious turning point, where a game is won and lost. Yesterday’s game didn’t have one for the Redskins, but there was a drive when the air went out of the Redskins sails.

The score was 6-9 early in the third quarter, and the Redskins needed a spark to get back in the game. The Redskins had just crossed the 50-yard line, and it was fourth down with two yards to go. Most teams--in most situations--punt on fourth down, for fear of losing the ball on downs. The ... Read More

  • Redskins Fall to Eagles 20-13

    10.17.2011 / Blog Posts Redskins

Redskins.com's Gary Fitzgerald provides a game recap:

    FIRST IMPRESSIONS

The Redskins entered Sunday coming off a bye and facing a golden opportunity to emerge as legitimate NFC East contenders and deal what amounted to a season-ending setback to the 1-4 Philadelphia Eagles. Instead, they were dealt a nightmare scenario by the so-called “Dream Team.”

The Redskins fell into an early hole, trailing 14-0 early in the second quarter. They spent the rest of the afternoon desperately trying to catch up. A quarterback change and a late rally fell short and the Redskins lost 20-13 at FedExField.

    Rex Grossman ... Read More
