Yesterday marked the first career starts of running back Roy Helu and offensive guard Maurice Hurt. It was the second career start of receiver Leonard ... Read More

There isn’t much to hang your hat on after a 23-0 shutout on the road. The team didn’t do any of the things that made it a winner in the first two weeks of the season, and the Redskins have slid to last place tie in the NFC East.

One of the few highlights of yesterday’s game, was that the Redskins limited the Bills to 23 points. That’s almost nine points fewer than their season average, and certainly left the offense with the opportunity to stay in the game.

    The play ... Read More

Some games boil down to an obvious turning point, where a game is won and lost. Yesterday’s game didn’t have one for the Redskins, but there was a drive when the air went out of the Redskins sails.

The score was 6-9 early in the third quarter, and the Redskins needed a spark to get back in the game. The Redskins had just crossed the 50-yard line, and it was fourth down with two yards to go. Most teams--in most situations--punt on fourth down, for fear of losing the ball on downs. The ... Read More
