  • Redskins Show Firepower Against Eagles, But Fall Short In The End

    09.22.2014 / Blog Posts Redskins

The Washington Redskins brought both intensity and offensive firepower to Philadelphia for their Week 3 matchup against the Eagles, but ultimately fell by a final decision of 37-34.

Headlining this NFC East tilt was the return of wide receiver DeSean Jackson to the place that he called home for his first six NFL seasons.

Jackson, known for his elusiveness and game-changing speed, reminded Philadelphia just how potent he can be in the third quarter, dashing past the Eagles’ defense for an 81-yard score.

It was his first touchdown as a Redskin.

Combining a record performance by the defense and a balanced offensive attack, the Washington Redskins soundly defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at FedExField by a final of 41-10.

On offense, fullback Darrel Young got the scoring started once again, hauling in a 20-yard pass from quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Cousins entered the game in the first quarter after quarterback Robert Griffin III left due to injury.

After Young recorded the first touchdown of the day, running back Alfred Morris followed it up with two straight 1-yard touchdown runs.

By Stephen Czarda, Redskins.com Associate Writer

The Washington Redskins traveled north to take on the Baltimore Ravens Saturday in Week 3 preseason action, but were unable to secure a victory despite several strong performances, most notably from the first-team defense.

In the 23-17 loss, defensive end Jason Hatcher provided exactly what the Redskins want out of him – a sack and a presence that’s allows his teammates freedom to move around and record sacks of their own.

Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan recorded his third sack in as many games, while rookie linebacker Trent Murphy also logged a quarterback takedown on ... Read More

The Washington Redskins are now 2-0 in the preseason, as they got past the Cleveland Browns 24-23 at FedExField Monday night.

Just as they did vs. the New England Patriots in Week 1, the Redskins’ first-team defense did not allow a first down in the first quarter. In fact, led by Ryan Kerrigan (two sacks), the defense forced five straight three-and-outs to start the game.

Offensively, the first-team unit received extended action in comparison to Week 1, playing the entire first quarter and the first few minutes of the second quarter. Robert Griffin ... Read More
