Redskins Park has seen it's fair share of special visitors, but yesterday was one to remember when a local girl scout troop from Balls Bluff Elementary School arrived.
Embarking on monthly trips to local businesses to learn more about various professions, the girls came out to Redskins Park to find out what work goes on behind-the-scenes for an NFL team.
The girls received a tour of the facilities from Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation staff before hearing from numerous members of the Redskins front office including Head Chef Jon Mathieson and members of the Redskins Equipment Team.

Ladies also took the time to write letters to soldiers to be included in the packages while dining and stopped by our #RedskinsSalute table to participate in the Who Do You Salute photo sweepstakes.

WOW sat down with Krissy Green, Founder of the local Douglas J. Green Memorial Foundation, to talk about more about their mission to create and send meaningful carepackages to soldiers overseas.
What was your inspiration in starting the DJGMF?
We didn't want to be the grieving family with no outlet for our loss. Creating a foundation in Doug's honor has helped us ensure his legacy lives on. We knew that there's nothing he'd rather us be doing than supporting his brothers and sisters that were by his side while deployed.
