World Police and Fire Games is a biennial athletic event that attracts around 10,000 international entrants of both active and retired law enforcement. This year, on its 30-year anniversary, it will be held right down the street from Redskins Park and our nation's capital in Fairfax County.
Rightfully known as, the Games of Heroes, the Olympic-style events last just over a week from June 26 to July 6. One hundred and fifty packages in thirty minutes. That’s 150 opportunities to change the life of a child or adult affected by sexual assault, domestic violence or sex trafficking.
On Monday, June 15 the Redskins hosted a Fear 2 Freedom (F2F) care packaging event where current players, rookies, and staff members gathered to help out. Kits were assembled that held clothing, a diary, toiletries, a “Freedom Bear” and, most significantly, a personalized note from the creator of the kit.

Several Redskins players helped to run a football clinic for the Dreams for Kids DC (DFKDC) foundation. Together they practiced everything from a simple catch to running routes and even punting and kicking! Will Compton, Shawn Lauvao, Kai Forbath, Alfred Morris, Nick Sundberg and Tress Way were all in on the festivities.
“We’re all happy to come out and help. You get a lot out of it when you give back,” commented LB Will Compton to WUSA9.

Redskins DL Chris Baker otherwise known as "Swaggy" was inducted into The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 23.
Baker, originally from Windsor, Conn., wrote he was “privileged, blessed and honored” for the induction. Chris Baker said "It feels great to be home," as he recalled his days as a Boys & girls Club member. "I learned a lot at the club that I took forward with me in life," he said.
