Click here to see last week's blog for explanation of why this pattern sets you up for overeating at night.

    By Brian Tinsman

Going into yesterday’s game, exactly one national pundit—ESPN’s Chris Mortensen—picked the Redskins to beat the Patriots. According to pick ‘em leagues, upwards of 80 percent of football fans thought this game would be a Patriots wash.

But the Redskins showed yesterday that they can stand toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in football, servicing notice to the rest of the league.

Despite Rex Grossman going touchdown-for-touchdown with Tom Brady, it was a bit of trickery on offense that turned out to be the play of the game.

  • Patriots @ Redskins Tailgating Recipe: New England Clam Chowder

    By Danette Segroves, Dinner Matters

What says New England better than a hot, hearty bowl of clam chowder?

In our kitchen we use more than six pounds of fresh clams, but the cleaning, shucking and chopping is too much for game day!

We’ve made this recipe easier by using canned clams – you can buy whole or chopped. If you buy whole, you will need to give them a rough chop.

This chowder is lighter because we use less bacon and skim milk instead of cream, but it is still hearty and delicious!

    - Clam Chowder (a little lighter ... Read More

    By Brian Tinsman

Sunday’s loss to the Jets showed how physical and competitive this Redskins team is capable of being, and also how far they have to go to close out wins.

With a little under eight minutes left in the game, Graham Gano put the Redskins on top with a 46-yard field goal. This was a great moment for the much-maligned kicker, and put the Redskins in a comfortable situation to end the game. If the Jets march down the field and score on their next possession, there should be time left on the clock. If ... Read More
