    12.24.2012 / Blog Posts Redskins

    Andrew Walker

This magical Washington Redskins season continues.

The Redskins went into Philadelphia and defeated their rival Eagles 27-20 Sunday to extend their winning streak to six games and set up a showdown for the NFC East Division title next Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

A win, and Washington (9-6) has its first NFC East title and home playoff game since the 1999 season. A loss, and the Redskins would need help from a couple other teams to make the playoffs as a Wild Card.

The Redskins certainly had a slow start on Sunday against the Eagles (4-11), but really ... Read More

The smell of a freshly cut grapefruit immediately takes me back to cold winter mornings growing up. My parents shared a grapefruit every morning with their breakfast. I realize now why “winter” is the season of this memory; winter is when citrus fruit is at its peak season.

Citrus as a winter fruit is another example of Mother Nature’s perfect timing!

Citrus fruit provides us many of the nutrients needed to fend off colds, flu and other germs we are susceptible to at this time of year.

  • Monday Morning Water Cooler: Red-Hot Redskins Cruise To Victory Over Browns

    12.17.2012 / Blog Posts Redskins

    Andrew Walker

About six weeks ago, the Washington Redskins had hit their lowest point of the season, having lost to the then 2-5 Carolina Panthers 21-13 Nov. 4 at FedExField to fall to 3-6 on the season.

The Redskins were in last place in the NFC East and their chances of even sniffing a playoff spot had almost dwindled completely.

But five wins later – including Sunday’s 38-21 win over the Cleveland Browns – Washington finds itself leading the NFC East Division, and at 8-6, controls its own destiny to make the postseason.

Though the final score of the Browns game ... Read More

  • Monday Morning Water Cooler: Redskins Will Way to 31-28 Overtime Win Over Ravens

    12.10.2012 / Blog Posts Redskins

    Andrew Walker

If your fingernails are significantly shorter than they were at this time yesterday, then you’re not alone.

The Washington Redskins overcame the adversity of both losing their starting quarterback to injury and an eight-point deficit late in Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens to pull off a 31-28 overtime win at FedExField. It was the Redskins’ fourth straight win, and gives the team a 7-6 record on the year.

The Redskins seemed dead in the water late in the fourth quarter of yesterday’s game, but quarterback Robert Griffin III and the Washington offense took the ... Read More
