Disks of fried dough can jumpstart even the gloomiest of mornings. They can absorb the most tortured breakups, or even lessen the sting of a day sitting in jury duty or the DMV. When you’re not eating your feelings, you should be chowing down on the city’s best donuts anyway because they’re damn delicious. New openings over the past two years have made DC’s donut game better than ever -- but you will have to visit the 'burbs to try some of the leading contenders. These are the DC area’s eight ... Newly signed linebacker Nico Marley continued his mini press tour on Thursday when he joined NFL Network’s "Good Morning Football" to talk about his emotions joining the professional ranks.
Before he could get in a word, host Kay Adams dropped a little tidbit about Marley's father, Rohan, that makes Marley’s decision to sign with the Redskins all that more meaningful.
“Growing up in Jamaica, [Rohan] wasn’t very familiar with American football and he had a satellite and there was one team that he watched, and that team was, in fact, the ... Read More

Before he was pushing around opponents with ease at the NFL level and before he was one of three Oklahoma players taken in the top four picks of the 2010 NFL Draft, Washington Redskins Pro Bowl tackle Trent Williams was a dominant player for Longview (Texas) High School.
While at Longview, Williams was a unanimous first-team All-District selection as a senior and earned first-team All-East Texas and second-team Texas all-state.
This came on the heels of a second-team all-district selection as a junior.
On Tuesday evening, Williams returned to his high school ... Read More

Announcer and journalist Beth Mowins will do play-by-play for ESPN during the Monday Night Football matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos on Sept. 11, ESPN announced Tuesday. It will be the first time a woman has been tapped to do play-by-play for a regular season NFL game since 1987.
Mowins typically does play-by-play at the college level for women’s sports, but has plenty of experience calling college football games. She first got the call to do play-by-play regularly for Western Athletic Conference games back in 2005. Mowins said at the time that she ... Read More
