Back pain is a common complaint. Most people in the United States will experience low back pain at least once in their lives. Causes include muscle or ligament strain, arthritis, ruptured discs, osteoarthritis and spine irregularities.
Proper body mechanics and a healthy lifestyle can help prevent back pain. Exercise regularly, build muscle strength and flexibility, and maintain a healthy weight. When lifting heavy objects, let your legs do the work.
