This week on our meet the team, #36 fullback Darrel Young!

In high school, your fellow students would have voted you “Most likely to…”
In high school, my fellow students did vote me class flirt, most likely to succeed and most athletic.

What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is ribs off the grill with my dads special barbeque sauce on them.

Favorite time of the year?
My favorite time of the year is Christmas because I get to give gifts away to family and friends. The expressions on their faces are what make the holidays so much better. Also, I like the smell of holiday candles.

What is the best advice someone has ever given you?
The best advice someone has given me was my dad. He told me anything without a purpose is just noise. Have a plan. The world doesn’t need to know about it but don’t follow the path that life may lead you, but create a path and leave a trail so people can be follow.

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind?
I had two all white huskies. They were 25% wolf. I love animals.

What is one thing you’ve always wanted to learn how to do?
I have always wanted to learn how cook better. I can cook, but prepare food for a large crowd that everyone can like.

Who do you look up to?
I look up to my dad. He worked two jobs just to put me through high school and college and it made me appreciate everything that I have and how to make sacrifices to make sure your family is good.

Do you have any hidden talents? If so, what are they?
I played the trumpet and baritone in high school and did it fairly well.

What's one thing football has taught you that helps you off the field?
One thing that football has taught me was how to handle adversity. Whatever life throws at you, you can adjust, tweak a couple of things, and make yourself better.

What is your nickname?
I have a couple of nicknames. “DY” and Short Bus. Santana Moss calls me Diamond.

What is your favorite pump up song?
My favorite pump up song is Jay-z and Eminem- Renegade

What was your favorite TV show as a kid?
My favorite TV show as a kid was Martin and still is.

What is the #1 most played song on your iPod right now?
The #1 most played song on my Ipod is Drake- Pound Cake

If you could chose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
If I could choose anyone as my mentor, I would choose Robert Turner who is currently our Running back coach. His life lessons are priceless.

What’s your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is Remember the Titans.
