The countdown continues with only nine days left until Turkey Day! Though we’ll certainly be pigging out on green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie, let’s not forget that Thanksgiving is all about gratitude and fellowship. Give thanks for all that you have and celebrate with the ones you love before and after the big meal with this potential schedule from NoVA Mag.
9 a.m.-noon: Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
While you (or whoever is playing head chef for the day) are preparing the turkey first thing in the morning, tune into NBC for the national Thanksgiving favorite Macy’s Day Parade, hosted by “Today Show” reporters Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker. In its 86th year, the Macy’s Day Parade returns once again to NYC and to a television screen near you. Featured stars will include Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, Carly Rae Jepsen and the casts of “The Muppets” and “Sesame Street,” as well as performances from the world-famous Radio City Rockettes and Broadway musicals “Annie” and “Cinderella.” The kids will love the show too! With over 80 floats and balloons, 1600 dancers, 900 clowns and 11 marching bands, they’re bound to find larger-than-life versions of their favorite characters.
